Element Access Tags

Element access tags are deprecated in favour of Instance Security, which applies group-based access at the model, dimension, and element level and offers more flexibility. New implementations should use Instance Security instead.

Element access tags provide collaborators with access to elements from a selected dimension of the model associated with the application. Element access provides Write, Read or No access to any element of the selected dimension.

Notes Around Applications Without Access Tags

If no element access tags exist in an application, all collaborators will have dimension and element access to the entire model associated with the application.

As soon as an access tags is created for a dimension, users will no longer be able to view any elements for this dimension until an access tag is applied to their user that provides access.
