# web.disableSSLVerification

Turns off SSL certificate checks for the `web` requests that follow, so servers with self-signed or invalid certificates can be reached. The connection is still encrypted, but the certificate isn't checked.

::: warning
This leaves requests open to man-in-the-middle attacks. Only use it for servers you trust.
:::

```js
web.disableSSLVerification()
```

## Returns

`true` if verification was turned off, otherwise `false`.

## Examples

```js
const isDisabled = web.disableSSLVerification();
console.log("SSL verification disabled:", isDisabled);
```
