# mapping.rowUpdate

Replaces the keys of a row in a mapping. If the keys on one side conflict with another row, that row is removed, so there is always a 1:1 mapping between the keys on each side.

Every element must already exist in its dimension. Get a row's id from [mapping.findUsingLeft](/process-functions/mapping-findusingleft) or [mapping.findUsingRight](/process-functions/mapping-findusingright).

```js
mapping.rowUpdate(mappingName, rowId, leftKeys, rightKeys)
```

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `mappingName` | `string` | The mapping's name or id. |
| `rowId` | `number` | The row's id. |
| `leftKeys` | `string[]` | One element for each dimension on the left side, in order. |
| `rightKeys` | `string[]` | One element for each dimension on the right side, in order. |

## Returns

`true` if the row was updated, otherwise `false`.

## Examples

```js
mapping.rowUpdate("Time to Year and Month", 1, ["FY2017 - Jul"], ["2017", "Jul"]);
```
